Mojito
As I start writing this, I sadly realize that it's been almost a year since my last cocktail post. I'm hoping to do them a little more frequently than that. Today I'm giving my recipe for one of my favourite classic cocktails, the Mojito. This recipe is mostly an amalgamation of several recipes that I've tried, to get what I think is the ideal recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz white rum
- 6-8 mint leaves
- 1/2 lime
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Club soda
Instructions
Bruise the mint leaves by clapping them between your palms.
Rub the leaves around the rim of the glass and drop them in.
Squeeze the juice from the half lime into the glass.
Add the simple syrup and muddle 5-6 times.
Fill the glass with ice.
Add the rum and stir well.
Top with club soda and stir lightly, and then garnish with a sprig of mint.
