Sten's Album of the Month - August 2021

Deafheaven took a giant leap with this album, and I'm sure it will be very polarizing among their fans. They've mostly abandoned the black metal parts of their signature "blackgaze" sound, and have gone from all screamed vocals to practically all singing. Personally I'm a big fan of this new sound of theirs, and I think that this album really shows off how good they are at writing songs.
