Sten's Album of the Month - August 2022 - Russian Circles
It's probably not a surprise that Russian Circles gets my "album of the month" this month. They've been one of my favourite bands for over a decade now. Not only that, but they're amazing to see live; I love getting to see them layer all the guitar parts live with a looper pedal. Brian Cook's super distinct bass tone is another thing I really like. I think their new album Gnosis also happens to be one of my favourite albums that they've done. With Blood Year I felt that they were getting in a heavier mood, and I think Gnosis has continued that trend. Apparently this is also the first time ever that they've released a music video, which is interesting.
