Sten's Album of the Month - May 2022 - Cave In
Weirdly, I haven't actually been a Cave In fan for horribly long. I knew who they were of course, being a big fan of Old Man Gloom and various other bands from the Boston area. I'm sure this was partially due to convenience, as (almost) none of their albums were on Spotify for a long time. It wasn't until after the death of bassist Caleb Scofield that I sought out their albums to listen to (on Bandcamp), and became a huge fan. I don't think Cave In will ever be quite the same without Caleb powerful basslines and unique growl, but Nate (Converge) is amazing by his own right, and is a good fit in the band. Cave In is still going strong and this album is on track to be one of the top albums of the year for sure.
